If you're still buying lead packages or opportunity seeker lists, you may be spending hundreds of dollars per month just to acquire those leads. A common problem that arises from buying leads is that most of the lists being sold online are already rehashed and used many times by other marketers. The result? Those leads available through list buying are not responsive, and they are good as junk.

So to avoid losing lots of money on buying leads, you should invest your time into learning how to generate your own leads online. You can do this for free, or you can put your lead generation methods on steroids by using some effective paid methods. Here are some tips on how to generate your own leads.

1. Start your own website which aims to help your target crowd or market. Stop thinking that you can compete in the global internet arena without a website. If your MLM program gives you an affiliate website (also called replicated webpages), don't get contented with those. It is still better to have your own domain name that brands you as an individual.

2. Offer some free stuff on your website. Create a home made ebook or report and make it available for download on your website. Of course, the purpose of this is to catch the names and email addresses of people who visit your website. But instead of thinking about "getting" them and making money from them, focus on how you can help them. Provide value, information, help and free advice.
