Every town, city and even village has community cork boards.  Depending on the size of the town there could be hundreds of these local message boards.  What good are they?

Well, by taking a quick glance at the ones in my neighborhood they are a great place to post your missing pet (hope Gribbles make it home safe Mrs. B!), they are perfect for people renting out basement apartments, for garage sale notices and of course your all around handymen.

Is there a way to target these boards in a more lucrative fashion?

There definitely is.  The power of these cork boards is not being used to its full potential.

If you have the internet then you have access to all kinds of affiliate marketing opportunities.  There are no lack of companies who are looking for people like you to pitch their service or product.  You don’t need to create a product or service, you just need to let the right people know about it.

Most of these cork boards are found in stores.  You can piggyback off the demographic the store already attracts.  Let’s say that you want to promote a weight loss company (a popular affiliate), would you post your ad in the local hardware store? Maybe not, but how about the grocery store, a health food store or a gym?

Now you know you are getting your word out to your demographic.  And what’s the cost to you?  A little wear and tear on your shoes and whatever it costs to print a couple dozen flyers.
