It's easy; like the tagline says: Shop! Sell! Have Fun! An All'asta party operates on the same model as most home party businesses (host, consultant, guests) but with a super fresh spin. The guests and host sell their owngoods, and everyone can make money. The host gives the consultant a guest list, which—with All'asta—can include men and women. (Yep, guys like shopping like this, too. Who knew?) The consultant invites the guests to bring goodies to sell. Almost everyone has something that's brand new or in great condition they'll never use, but guests who don't are encouraged to come anyway. What will be sold? What bargains can be had? What hilarious tales will be told? All'asta auctions are quick and efficient and—most of all—fun. Guests earn 50% of the purchase price—just like you'd get selling online or consigning, but with less work and so much more fun!
What is an All'asta Auction?
Well, it's not your typical auction. First and foremost: it's good stuff. Friends tend to bring new items (they forgot to return) or barely used items (they know you'd enjoy). We encourage selling things worth $10+, or bundling bunches of little items to make it worthwhile.
When guests arrive with their valuables, they'll work with the consultant to set starting bids. These amounts will be posted and placed on a table next to the item, with a bidding sheet and a pen. As guests mingle during the party, they can shop and decide if they want to bid on an item. If they do, they'll add their number and bid amount on the bidding sheet. Each new bidder must bid higher than those before. When the auction closes, items are frozen. The consultant takes a few moments to gather the sheets and announce the winners. Winners buy their items and take them home that night.
