US Business Heads Arriving in India

New Delhi, 5 November 2008, A business delegation of small and medium enterprises from the United States is visiting New Delhi on Monday, the 10th of November 2008. The delegates will be examining the possibilities of business tie-ups with mid size Indian firms.
 
The delegation comes at an opportune time when India's relations with the United States are on an upswing. "The business slow down back home has greatly encouraged these companies to look at India for expanding their business plans in a high growth market economy", said Mr. Ajay Singha, Executive Director, AMCHAM India (American Chamber of Commerce in India).
 
According to AMCHAM, "SMEs from overseas generally need hand holding by an Indian counterpart while entering India's large and challenging market environment." It is in this context that a business meeting is being organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in India on Monday, the 10th of November 2008 in New Delhi.
 
Mr. Gopal K. Pillai, Commerce Secretary, Government of India, will be the Chief Guest at the preliminary and match-making session taking place on the 10th of November. With the help of the Indian and the US Governments, this mission to India is receiving unprecedented support and is likely to be a great success.
 
The Chamber greatly appreciates the role of the US Embassy and FedEx USA in bringing this delegation to India.
 
The President and CEO of Coca-Cola India, Mr. Atul Singh, who is also the Chairman of AMCHAM, will welcome the delegates and share his experiences.
