Generally, we work either in an office or factory or school or college or a place away from home.
At home we rear children, we take rest, we cook good food and eat.
SO our home is different from a work place which will be either nearby or far away from home.
People travel long distance everyday to reach their work place either in their own vehicle or in public transports like train or bus.
Those who travel long distance everyday feel tired towards the week-end.
SO rest and relaxation are essential every week-end.
Today’s busy life of human beings takes away the time for enjoyment and relaxation.
Home is supposed to provide these; but nowadays who is at home except the retired, old parents?
Everyone, husband and wife go to work; children go to school or college.
One way it is good that the members of the family are active throughout the day.
Planning helps in organizing the life in such cases.
Work brings money which is very much needed for leading a comfortable life.
Earning money is the eager everyone has to better his or her life.
In today’s situation, money is everything.
Some are fortunate to get a better job based on their qualification and some are less fortunate that they do not get a job at times.
But the less fortunate people are educated and possess certain skills.
Even they can get training to develop kills nowadays by paying and joining a short-course.
Most of the home-makers (house wives) are very busy in the morning to prepare the children to go to school or college, husband to office and so in the evening.
Rest of the day she will be free to do any other work at home.
Such work will bring some money which will add to the income of the family and at the same time it keeps them occupied not wasting time in front of TV.
There are many kinds of work available nowadays.
I do know in our colony a woman grinds rice and blackgram as dosa / idly mix which she distributes at a nominal cost to those who want it in the colony.
They work at home and earn money.
Similarly, depending on the talent and skill one has, one can work at home which is more convenient and relaxing to earn some money.
Tailoring is another popular work women do at home.
Food processing has become a popular work at home.
Preparation of wheat, rice or ragi flour with the help of mini-mills and selling them is practiced in many cities.
Pickle, papad, chips, curry powders, sweets, candles, incense and many other items are prepared at home and sold to nearby shops.
Even handicraft items are also made for the market.
Retired people also involved in such activities after working 30 years in an organization with stress and tension.
They feel homely to do leisurely work at home.
Nowadays, the computer provides lot of work at home.
In fact, we see in internet as well as in dailies the advertisements on ‘work-at-home’ jobs every day.
It looks very attractive to earn good sums of money every month with a computer and internet at home.
It would be a great opportunity if one gets a job like this.
But alas!
Lot of what is advertised is attractive but bogus.
Most of the advertisers ask for our personal information such as home addresses, bank account number, credit card details and sometimes an advance payment of money!
Therefore, it is dangerous to believe the bogus advertisements appear time and again in internet and in dailies.
Many such bogus and fraud advertisements appear to cheat people, but no one has a means to control them
Internet is a world web system, who is going to put a restriction on these cheatings.
One has to take care of oneself by not yielding to those inducements.
On the other hand, genuine work at home jobs are available too.
Industries generally employ people to do their work at home by providing the inputs with a time frame.
It is not that easy to do such work at home because serious hard work is expected to complete the project within a said time.
Industries are very particular about it, no excuses!
We all know that only hard work will bring money.
Therefore, if one has an experience in computer and more time and energy can try for these jobs.
Personal contact with companies will help to get such jobs.
In order to continue the job, one has to wok hard and meets the requirements of the company in time.
It would be better to take up small computer jobs like multimedia, flexiboard designing, animations, editing, typing theses, writing articles etc.,
One of my friends was doing a job like this, but he could not continue because he had no one to fall back for clearing his doubts; whereas in a regular job colleagues and boss are there to help.
More intellectual jobs require a team to work with.
Such opportunity is missing in work at home jobs.
The skill oriented jobs which are physical in nature would be much easier to handle.
Anyway, one has to work at home because there will be always works at home to do.
