Now with Cable and satellite services transmitting hundreds of channels at a time with mixture of fast paced programs such as sports and less fast paced programs like news and talk shows, broadband users will experience tilling in some transmissions where more pixels are employed to update fast paced transmissions - and the bandwidth is not properly multiplexed to update the pixels.
Tilling often occurs when there is over compression of programs in the transmission of the multiple channels in a bandwidth pipe. Since there no regulatory and monitoring when it comes to compression of HI-DEF content on those services, and in order not over compressed their programs, many cable channels and major networks broker individual contracts with each provider the minimum-quality-of-service for delivery the transmission of their broadcasts.
