Internet Television - Online Streaming Television a Better Promising Advertising Medium (1)

With the galloping increase over the years especially a decade and half ago in adverts revenue for Internet giants like Microsoft, Yahoo, Google and recently Facebook, the television industry is scampering to have a share in this slice of Internet market.

Technology such as the new Digital Video Recorders which enables viewers to skip commercials and adverts are some new technologies that are forcing the TV market stakeholders to look at the Internet market for solution.

Many of these TV networks providers are now researching and developing new ads Internet tools that can delivered specialized adverts for Television and satellite programming. They are also experimenting with new ideas, such as product and service placements in shows and software that inserts adverts in specific contexts.

For instance a razor commercial that appears after an unshaven character enters the scene or cartoon heroes' toys commercial that appears before, during and or after cartoon show. This targeting is very popular with Disneyland shows that has both the human and cartoon model of the hero.

According to Jo Ann Ross, CBS' president of ad sales, The Internet "give advertisers more places to reach the customer," This Internet avenue option of reaching out to targeted audience and fan base of TV shows and series, gives the TV production companies and Digital Broadcasting Service (DBS) providers a new avenue for revenue generation from their archives of TV programs and shows.

A visit to these TV production companies and DBS websites and a brief search in iTunes stores, will open you to the array of opportunities the Internet market has opened up for them. They are offering subscription services that give viewers access to thousands of hours of old programming, ranging from the bizarre 1960s sitcom. From my TV on PC software that I use in watching satellite TV, I discovered that options for old TV series as far back as three decades are now available.

This is an eye opener for Internet television critics that the Internet market for television programming has come to stay if not to compete with conventional television and satellite programming, it will surely go a long way complementing it as well as having its own fully developed market.

The increase in TVPC software for satellite programming on your PC is an eye opener that Internet television is a reality that will continue to be real.
