With the dawn of the Internet, many television and cable networks have decided to make available some of their free to air broadcasts over the Internet as taped or live feeds. Most networks post bits of their choice daily live broadcasts as pre-recorded streaming videos, few of the networks stream their entire 24/7 broadcasts live.
With a Pentium 3 system that is not loaded with many programs, you can confidently watch variety of satellite channels on pc with the aid of TV software on your PC. For better quality TV on PC viewing I will advise on go for a higher configuration.
There are many current and past documentaries made available online by the Public Broadcasting Station (PBS), this set the space for the large chunk of free TV content available for Internet users. This has availed many Internet users to have free and direct access watch with no cost attached.
An Internet user must have a typical requirement or what I can call the minimum recommendation needed to install a windows 2000 or XP. This PC requirement is also based on the quality of your graphics card and your Internet connection.

This specification will guarantee clear digital satellite TV streaming and downloading.
This is what I use as I have many programs on Desktop and laptop. Ensure you have large hard disk space if you intend saving some of these streaming videos or broadcasts, as they are bad candidates for storage consumption and fragmented space on your system. Ensure also that any TV software you purchase are rid of Adware by doing a search these on them and read reviews on them also before making a choice.
Furthermore, the PC system should have good security tools that contains anti-virus, anti spyware, anti-spam to be able to fight off virus attacks, fixing bugs and other problems. I have discovered on more 3 occasions during a broadcast or after watching a station, my anti-spyware has picked some unfavorable tracking cookies. Even, my registry cleaner is saddled with cleaning more ActiveX control errors emanating from the media player.
On the technology side, I really think that satellite on PC is a very smart product with minimum system requirements. However, there are lots of complicated system issues I am discovering which is we don't get customer support this sort of thing. So, if we make a mistake, there will no one to help us. So ensure your systems resources are more than enough especially when you want to open two or more windows at the same time.
