 Dear Reader,
Are computers man's best friend ? Making Coffee is one thing they don't do but are good pals supposed to be your coffee slave ? (ho ho ho this is getting exciting). More seriously, laptops are part of our lives. Young generations play and chat very early. Older generations use it at work everyday and some seniors are very curious and excited about what they could do with a pc. (My 70yo grandmother uses it for genealogy). No matter how old you are, computers are helpful. Now, think about this: what is you see the most when using a computer ? A screen. (that was simple lol). And what do you see on your screen ? Images, movies & text. We are living in a world of communication with it's negative and positive sides. We're all looking for more deeper informations, more impacting video clips and helpful articles. When it's free it's even better. So let's see together the point of having access, on your computer, to what is today's major media: television.
So, before we see the pro-tv-on-pc's & the anti-tv-on-pc's arguments, I'll show you how easy it to receive 4000 channels instantly on your computer.
The first thing that comes to mind is the number of cables you'll need, the size and price of the tv card, and how the big antenna which transmits the images looks like. In other words, is this thing a visual & expensive nightmare ? My answer : remember prehistory ? Dinosaures and all the stuff ? It's exactly the same thing. Today, all you need (is love) is a simple software. The TV channels are streamed through the internet connection. Then it's up to you. Make a choice! Because the good news is you can get thousands of worldwide stations in less than 10 minutes. Well is that really good news ?
Against ? The arguments.

Who the hell has enough time to watch this ? Unemployed, millionaire, depressed or all three ?! Come on, it's useless.
. The internet connection
Have you ever heard of a 100% reliable high speed connection ? So you're watching your favorite movie on channel 3651 and suddenly you have a little message saying "your internet connection went down. Please wait a little". How frustrating.
. The Image & the sound
The size of a laptop screen is so small compared to a Tv screen. Will I need a magnifying glass to watch football ? Did I say the images' quality were far from perfect on a PC ? And the sound, oh my god, I need to laugh.
. A software
Major companies sell softwares that bug although they spent millions developping them. How can I rely on a software to watch my favorite shows ?

. Having the Choice
Choice is extremely valuable and opens one's mind to the world. 4000 stations ? Fine ! Who ever said you needed going to watch all of them ? It's like entering a bookshop. Are you going to read all the books just because you're inside the store ? I like the fact that I can watch live sports, tv shows, news and documentaries from all over the world. It's an amazing opportunity to improve myself and learn more. And as a cinema fan, I have access to free bonuses like an access to 80 million movies.
. Internet Connection
Can you say your satellite connection with a receiver dish never goes down ? Today, the internet connection is as reliable as any other technology.
. The Price
Buying a software which allows me to watch 4000 stations for less than $100 bucks is far more interesting than subscribing to a cable or a satellite company with recurring charges. Tv on Pc is lifetime!
. Mobility
Moving your laptop is so easy. You can watch tv anywhere. Wireless internet connections make it even easier. Indoor and outdoor. In fact it's just like I had an extra TV which works anywhere in the world !
. Easy & immediate
Installing a software requires the knowledge of a 6yo child. And no, all softwares do not bug. Hopefully, otherwise people would stop buying them. And the computing industry would dramatically suffer economically.
. The quality
ok, it's true my pc screen is smaller but the image's quality is really good. And don't forget about mobility. You can move your pc easier than your tv. ;-)
