Camping remains one of the most popular tourist activities in Italy which is home to over one thousand seven hundred official camping spots. The mix of great spring, summer and autumn weather, great food and affordable camping makes this a popular camping area with European travellers. Below a look at five of the most popular camping grounds in the country.

1. Don Antonio Camping Residence - The Don Antonio Camping Residence is located in Giulianova in the Italian region of Abruzzo. Don Antonio provides campers with all the necessary modern amenities while offering them a vacation in a natural environment perfect for camping. Facilities include bike rentals, guarded camping grounds, a small supermarket, shower areas and tennis courts.

2. Villaggio Camping Valdeiva - The Villaggio Camping Valdeiva can be found near the Deiva Marina in the province of Liguria, Italy. This is the ideal camping destination for guests who want to experience an Italian beach holiday as well, since the camping grounds are conveniently located just 3 kilometres from the Liguria coastline. Other nearby attractions include a national park, an aquarium, a harbour and a number of museums.

3. Park Galanti Villagio Turistico - Park Galanti Villagio Turistico is located in Lido di Pomposa in the Emilia-Romagna region of the country, and is situated near the sea. Guests here will be able to go on soothing nature walks or participate in the numerous sports programs offered by the Village staff. The Park Galanti Villagio Turistico also boasts of cosy cottages and an efficient and competent staff.

4. Parco delle Piscine - The Parco delle Piscine is a EuroCamp site that is located in the Sarteano region of Tuscany. This is very well situated camp that has three swimming pools, tennis courts and a pool bar. Tuscany as a region is a stunning place to visit and stay in with the countryside as scenic as it gets and with the local Tuscan food a unique Italian style.

5. Camping Lido Del Mare -Located in the Italian region of Puglia, the Camping Lido Del Mare is a beautiful camping village with its own little private beach area. Camping Lido Del Mare also offers camping grounds for tents and caravans and there are many brick bungalows available for campers and tourists. There are a number of international class camp sites in this local area and Lido Del Mare is one of the best.
