You might be getting ready to go on your first camping trip, and you're probably very excited about it. You've packed your tent, fishing poles, flare gun just in case, and you think you're just about ready. But did you think about some of the other supplies you might need to survive in the wilderness? While camping and being in the great outdoors may seem like a lot of fun there is a certain element of danger involved and you'll have to recognize that when you are getting ready to go on your trip.

There are a number of things that you will need to take with you in order to ensure you have a safe trip. The first thing that you will need to make sure you pack is a first aid kit. Whether you are alone or with others there is a chance that you will get hurt. To make sure that an injury does not end the camping trip make sure that you have a decent first aid kit with all the recommended items inside.

You may discover that the water on your camping trip is undrinkable or you simply do not like the taste. In the event that this occurs you will want to make sure that you carry a water filter. If you have a decent water filter you will be able to transform even the nastiest water into a substance that will keep you alive and happy for the duration of the camping trip.

Fire making materials such as matches are important if you want to be having hot meals. If you don't mind brining some technology with you then you may feel free to bring a hot plate so that you don't have to go to the trouble of starting a fire.

Lighting is also quite important when you're going on a camping trip. If you go off to use the bathroom during the night then you will need to be able to find your way back to the campsite. You can do this by either having a flashlight or having lanterns at the actual site. Doing both of these are actually highly recommended but pick at least one!

Perhaps the most important thing that you can bring with you are sleeping bags. Unless you have a desire to sleep directly under the stars with no cover then sleeping bags are extremely important so that you can get a good nights rest and be protected from the elements.

There is a lot involved in having a good camping trip, but with a little preparation you can have an enjoyable experience in the great outdoors! If you want more ideas for things to bring along with you then you can speak to camping experts and look around at sporting goods stores because there is no doubt that you will find something that you just can't live without in the great outdoors.
