This is a lot different from the Bear Mountain State Park near the Palisades. Bear Spring Mountain has minimum modern amenities, it is scenic and a lot personal with nature. If you are wanting to spend somewhere close to the lake, the Cayuga Lake State Park is ideal. Located on the west shore of Cayuga Lake's north end, east of Seneca Falls. Close attractions are: Sampson State Park, Taughannock Falls State Park, Fair Haven Beach State Park, Fillmore Glen State Park, and Watkins Glen State Park all within a short distance.
