Picnic Blankets Or Picnic Tables - Which One Is The Best?

When it comes to Summer we all think about going on day trips and sometimes taking a picnic with us. When you go on a picnic, there are lots of decisions that you need to make. You can choose whether to have a large picnic inviting friends and families, or a nice cosy small picnic with your partner or including all your immediate family. You will then have a number of people that need to be seated for the picnic.

You then have to decide if it would be better to take picnic blankets or if you would be better seated at picnic tables. Maybe you are unsure on what would be the best option so here is what you should think about.

When you arrange your next picnic, it is best to consider what type of seating arrangements would work for you and your guests. There are many factors that you need to think about. You will be planning in advance how many guests you want to invite. Picnic tables come in all shapes and sizes, but are usually designed to seat about four or eight people comfortably. If your picnic party is going to be quite large, there may not be enough room to seat all your guests at a table. You then have to decide if you want to buy another picnic table, or you ask your guests to bring some extra garden chairs. In addition to tables, you could use some picnic baskets for the extra guests.

Picnic blankets are very useful for all types of picnics, as long as the weather holds out and the ground is dry enough. You may find it easier to use picnic blankets, especially if you are travelling to a location, and they don't take up much room in your car. Couples like to use blankets so they sit together which creates a romantic setting for a picnic. They are nice and soft to sit on and you can lay them out anywhere. Picnic blankets are a great alternative to using a picnic table, as you don't always have to purchase one; an old blanket and bedsheet works just as well without the need to purchase a new one.

It is quite traditional to use a picnic blanket, though they do not suit everyone. Some people are afraid of "creepy-crawlies" (insects) so they do not like to sit on the ground, even it is on a blanket. If some of your guests are overweight, disabled or elderly, it is more comfortable for them to sit at a table to eat. A picnic table is a good investment to buy for use in your garden at home. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy a meal, a picnic or a barbecue with your family, and for when you have a party.

If you're going to use picnic blankets, as mentioned before, you can buy them at sales, or if you scout around at home you can find something suitable and small enough to lay on the ground. If you plan to buy one or more picnic tables you can go to your local garden supplies and home stores which sell outdoor equipment as well as indoors. They usually stock the largest selections, with displays so you see them in all their glory. It is always nice to sit and try them out for comfort and versatility. For extra tables, you can buy the foldaway type which can be stored away when not in use.
