Based in the outdoor mecca of Boulder, Cocona, Inc. has been in the business of developing innovative technologies from natural sources for years. Cocona unleashed the power of the activated carbon on the outdoor clothing scene with their Cocona® yarn. By embedding activated carbon derived from coconut shells into polyester yarn, Cocona harnessed the triple-threat powers of evaporative cooling, odor absorption and UV protection for all garments produced with their yarn.

Cocona recently developed Minerale (a yarn embedded with crushed volcanic minerals) as an alternative to their coconut based products. In comparison to fabric produced from Cocona yarn, Minerale fabric offers the same benefits with greater aesthetic appeal. The finer and whiter Minerale yarn makes it an excellent choice for light-weight next-to-skin clothing with truer colors.
