Clinical Study Abstract
Every year, thousands of women go under the knife voluntarily to havebreast augmentation surgery usingsilicone or saline implants. Surgery of any kind carries risks and any surgery that involves implants means further surgery when the implant comes to the end of its life. Surgery is also very costly.
This is a study to determine the effectiveness of a herbal supplement containing phytoestrogens that have been used for years by herbalists. Women taking these herbs have reported an increased bust size and firmness which prompted the researcher to evaluate these herbs specifically for breast augmentation.
Many women seek an alternative and this hub is about a clinical study that was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of a natural alternative to surgery. The study followed 36 women who took orally ingested herbal combinations. They ranged from 18 to 56 years old and weighed between 103 and 215 pounds.
Base line measurements included bust size, weight, mood and general temperament.
After 30 days of treatment, 53% showed an increase in bust size and after 60 days 80% did.
73% reported an increase in mental alertness and acuity and more restful sleep.
25% reported a reduced appetite an cravings and 15% lost weight.
The study concludes that most women produce positive results when taking this supplement, and that the supplement may be a safe alternative to surgery.
Methods
Participants were screened through a health institute and were interviewed. Only women in good overall health who were not taking any hormonal treatment such as the contraceptive pill were considered. Women with a history of breast cancer or polycystic breast disease were excluded from the study.
Each participant took 3 capsules a day for 90 days. Data was collected on day 30, 60 and 90. Participants were advised not to change their diet during the trial.
Breast measurements and weight were recorded. Women were asked about breast fullness, breast firmness, mental altertness, mental acuity and sleep.
Summary
After 30 days of treatment, 53% showed an increase in bust size (statistically significant) and after 60 days 80% did.
73% reported an increase in mental alertness and acuity and more restful sleep.
25% reported a reduced appetite an cravings and 15% lost weight.
One of the major conclusions was that the best results were seen in women around the 90 day mark. The study is continuing over 6 and 9 months with some of the women who indicated that they would like to stay on the supplements for a longer period of time. In addition, extra participants have joined the study and research is ongoing.
Results indicate that the supplement is safe, with no unpleasant side effects and is a natural alternative to surgical breast augmentation.
