Most people are "comfortable" in their current jobs and don't want to rock the boat. They have a steady source of income, health insurance benefits and that's enough. But do you realize if you're not working on your dream, on your life, on your future, you are helping someone else build theirs? Which would you rather invest in - yourself or someone else? Or, do you have plenty of good intentions about changing your job and yet find they never come to fruition? Do you sit and daydream about what you could be doing and yet nothing changes?

So who decides 'what next'? Who decides which direction you're going to go in? Your old university careers advisor? A recruitment consultant? A fortune teller? Only you can make the decision if you truly want to take control of your life. Whether it's a slight shift in career direction or a total about-face, it's up to you to decide 'what next'? Aside from investing in magazines and surfing the Internet, you can also go to your local library or bookshop to read books. Each year, try to read one or two books that are related to your industry or business.
