If You Are The Interviewer

Posted: Feb 24, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Let's flip this around a little bit shall we? Instead of being the interviewee, let me put you into the hot shoes of an interviewer…

If you are the interviewer, you would be looking at that pile of papers at the corner of your desk. You would be letting out a big sigh and fantasizing of extending your hand and wiping it off your already messy desk onto a wastepaper basket below. You would then feel a huge burden lift off your shoulder. Until your boss comes along and asks how's the hiring coming along.

If you are the interviewer you would be conducting lots of interviews every day, hoping that you would find that really amazing person sooner rather than later so you can start doing something else with your time.

If you are the interviewer you would probably rather be doing something else other than spending all your time interviewing people

If you are the interviewer you would be able to smell inability and lack of confidence from a mile away (it actually smells like fish).

If you are the interviewer you would wish that the interviewee would have worn some cologne and put on something decent

If you are the interviewer you would wish the interviewee's england would be very the better.

If you are the interviewer you would be slapping your head with the applicant's application because it sounded so bad.

If you are the interviewer, you would be salivating when someone who wow's you walks through the door and then you would say "Thank you!" to the heavens above

So please, do the interviewer a little favour and help him put an end to his applicant search by being absolutely fantastic and mind blowingly good.

They think that bringing things to an interview makes them appear over the top, but the opposite is actually true. If you don't bring anything, an employer may feel like you have come unprepared.

The purpose of job interview is eliciting information. If on the one hand the interviewer wants to know the candidate in great detail including about the intangibles like his qualities, potential, attitude and teamwork, the candidate wants to know the financial health, working environment and plans of the employer besides what he will be getting in terms of compensation.

Interview is an art of expressing self, where an interviewee is a seller and an interviewer is a buyer. An interview is nothing but bringing our internal knowledge outside and make other feel comfortable listening to it. It is nothing but an interaction between the sender (interviewee) and the receiver (interviewer). In the simplest word interview can be compared with the theory of the guest and the host relationship.
