A Career in the cleaning industry

Posted: Nov 25, 2009 |Comments: 0 |

When you are working within the cleaning industry you will, obviously, have to have good standards of cleanliness. If you cannot complete this part of your job well then this is not the job for you. You need to be able to achieve and maintain high standards throughout your working day as if you do not complete this job well, it will be obvious to your employer. You will, in some work places, have regulations regarding health and hygiene. You will have to adhere to and if you cannot stick to these you will not be able to do the job. You need to be able to assess your own work, making sure you have done the best you can and correcting or going over anything you have not completed well or have missed.

You also have to be able to work on your own. You will often be given a task to do and left to complete it in your own time. You need to be able to remain focused, keeping at your work until it is completed. The work can sometimes be menial and dull and you need to be able to keep your attention focused on the task at hand until is completed. Your employer will not be expecting to have to keep checking up on you throughout your shift, you will be expected to complete your work by the end of your shift without outside interference.

You also need to be punctual and reliable. You will be expected to turn up for your shift on time every day and you need to be able to do this without fail. You will have a certain amount of work to be completed during your shift and you will not be able to do this if you do not turn up for work at your appointed time. Your employer needs to know that you are reliable; a bad attendance record in any job will severely reduce your chances of keeping that job.

This work can sometimes be difficult and often it can be hard to keep focused. However, if you have the skills available you will find it is a job you can do well and you will enjoy.
