Building Technician

At the planning stage they will prepare designs and plans for surveyors and construction professionals. They will also deal with any changes to previous designs.
On the financial side, they are tasked with listing each and every part or item required for a project, everything from equipment to the costs of employing workers and buying in materials. Their analysis and computations are aimed at devising a total costing that will both succeed in getting the contract and ensuring the work returns a profits.
When purchasing materials they ensure the price and quality of items brought in. They achieve this by using the project designs as a basis for negotiation with suppliers, contractors and sub contractors.
They will be required to be on site to inspect all newly delivered equipment and materials.
Their other usual activities include:
l Carrying out the necessary preparation of a site ready for work.
l Overseeing all workers on site.
l Ensuring work is completed on time.
