l Steam cleaning engines.
l Replacing mud flaps, skirts and spoilers.

Car valets use specialist tools and equipment to carry out their work, including vacuum cleaners, brushes, cloths, steam and pressure washers, vacuums, brushes and buffers.
They are good at having an all around knowledge of different type of vehicles, will be aware of safety issues and be prepared to get wet often in the course of their work.
Starting salaries are usually around £12000 a year. Working hours can be up to 40 hours per week, Mon to Fri, but weekend and evening working is required to make sure customers have their vehicles in good time.
Formal qualifications are not needed, and most training is given on the job by experienced valets. A driving licence would also be handy!
