CAT 2010 Results: Grabbing the cynosure of Attention
CAT i.e. Common Aptitude Test, is the official examination conducted in unison and interaction by all the representing entities of the Indian Institute of Management present in India. The examination is ideally held in or around the month of November, and the scope of eligibility to appear for the exam is a minimum graduation certification from a nationally recognized institution in about any discipline. Regardless of the fact that the exam is the primary (not sole) stepping stone to entry into the top management schools of India arguably, people have for ages held the impression that cracking CAT is enough to stomp the brand of excellence on oneself.
Ever since the inception, the IIMs have been the Mecca of business management/entrepreneurial training at post graduate level; and the importance is even more evident when you observe the fact that only about a fraction of a percentage of the appearing candidates at all qualify the primary step, which paves the way forward for another set of grilling before final candidature to the courses in IIMs. But unlike before, CAT is now an online exam held over a span of a month or more depending upon the number of applicants. Apparently, it all started with CAT 2009 becoming a CAT: 'Computer Adaptative Test'.
But, all went haywire when the test online went drove into the hornet's nest, when it faced abrupt reports of offline and server shutdowns, causing a raging stir and a situation where the management acumen of IIMs was under glare. Nevertheless, it survived the scare and with defiance went onto conduct the same pattern of examination this year again, rather more successfully.
Now that the exam is over and the wait for the scores were building up an inadvertent tension among the hopefuls, news is out that the results have been declared and that CAT 2010 results have been posted online. Initially a week earlier, dotcom reporter PagalGuy.com reported a leak of results which created early scampers and hustle among the students. We now wait ahead to see and confirm whether the leaks were true in info or not.
