Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are in high demand: Become one in as little as four weeks

If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, then becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant may be the right career for you.  Currently as other fields are suffering massive layoffs and salary cuts, the nursing field is experiencing an increased demand for qualified nursing candidates and offering very competitive salaries to attract top talent. While becoming a nursing aide is primarily an entry level job, you will gain valuable experience in the medical field and be able to get further training both in the field and in the classroom if you choose.

For those individuals who may have been laid off recently, and thinking about possibly changing fields.  The great think about obtaining your Nursing Assistant certification is that you can complete all the necessary training in as little as 4-12 weeks, and at a very low cost or in some cases free! There are a variety of training programs that you can take depending on your location.  One of the most popular training programs is offered by the Red Cross, and depending on your location costs between $600- 1,200 for the classroom and clinical portions of the training.  Additionally most community and junior colleges offer programs, as well as some nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  You can find out more information by visiting http://cna-training.info for information on classes in your area, scholarships, and even free training programs.  In fact in some instances if you choose to work in a nursing facility you can even get free training as well as be paid for working at the facility prior to you actually obtaining your state required (C.N.A.) license. 

During your (C.N.A) Certified Nurse Assistant training, you will attend both a classroom training portion in addition to hands on portion. The hands on training portion of the program require you to complete a certain number of hours, called clinicals, where you will be working with actual patients in a hospital or similar medical setting. All of your work will be overseen by trained medical professionals, who with assist you in performing your job responsibilities correctly so that you are ready when you are on your own.  

As mentioned previously while a Nurse Assistant is an entry level position, you will find it can be a very challenging and rewarding position.  You will be in charge of taking care of many of the basic needs of your patients including; bathing, grooming and feeding them.  You will also work closely and be supervised by registered nurses and performing many basic medical roles such as drawing blood, checking heart rate and vital signs.
