CNA Job Descriptions

There isn’t just one job being a CNA, it is like saying I want a IT job, this could mean anything as the field is pretty vast. This article will show you some example job descriptions and different types of CNA nurses. A CNA nurse can work in many field such as CNA-Float Pool-Nursing Administration and CNA-Surgical-Ortho, as you can see these two jobs are very different.

Let’s have a look at two jobs in more detail, I hope these jobs will show you exactly what could be needed from you once trained.

CNA-Surgical-Ortho

As you can see below, there is a lot to consider, 12 hour days are longer than most jobs in any industry (most jobs are around 8 hours). You have to be prepared to put the time in for this job and sacrafice times which you may want to socialise in. With this job the employee has to follow Palomar Pomerado Health rules, if you know what these are this not only means you are of very high quality but know what is important to the job.

Provides and documents care to patients under the direction of the RN, to include safe, comfortable and confidential environment. Participates as a team member to insure appropriate resources to all internal/external customers. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows PPH rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of PPH.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure

Preferred Education: Not Applicable

Minimum Experience: 0 – 6 months related

Preferred Experience: 1 year related

Required Certification: CNA
American Heart Association Recognized BLS – Heartsaver

Preferred Certification: Not Applicable

Required License: Not Applicable

Preferred License: Not Applicable

General CNA

As you can see, this job states a more hands on job working closely with patients at all times. This is most likely to be the job the majority of trainee CNA nurses will look for. As you can see the CNA certificate is preffered but the BCLS is also another option.
