A nursing assistant must have compassion and a desire to help people. It is not an easy job, but it can be very rewarding. A CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) is someone who helps people in need. These nursing professionals generally work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). CNAs may be found in hospitals, nursing homes, and other types of care facilities. The role of the CNA's is to take care for patients on a day to day basis and play an important role in the health care system.

Certified Nursing Assistant training may be a good alternate while your other occupation. During this you will be aware of basics of nursing and their responsibilities. Even you can opt to become a CNA as a full time career. There are lots of CNA training providers within best appropriate locale to you. CNA training duration varies depending upon the location.

Generally CNAs work under the supervision of registered nurse. Often the CNAs are more intimate to patients compared to doctors, specialists and other nurses as cna is directly responsible for patient care and personal needs. CNA's duties and responsibilities include patient feeding, bathing and dressing, oral care, nail care, basic hygiene, toileting the patient, to check basic vital sign (Blood pressure, pulse, and temperature monitoring), answering the call light, changing bed cloths and recreational activities to make patient happy. We have observed the dismay that new CNAs feel when overwhelmed by the workload and fast pace.

The economic slow down has affected most of the service sector, where employed service personnel are trimmed every second day and professionals are finding difficult to maintain their job. The sword of dismissal is on their head every time and new jobs are not easy to come. But, there is one sector, which is not so much effected by economic slow down, instead it is booming day by day. The Health care field is growing at a faster speed and there are huge job opportunities in this sector for nursing professionals with attractive salary.

CNA training duration is of 3-4 weeks and obtaining certification can offer theses certified professional a salary of $20,000 to $30,000. Imagine! 3-4 weeks training can provide you such an easy earning. But, it is also essential to understand that there are legion factors, which have its direct affect on the earnings of CNAs. E.g. a CNA earning is better in New York City as compared to nurse aide working in North Dakota. In the same way an experienced certified nurse assistant fetch better pay, when comparing with the wages received by fresh CNAs. Similarly a CNA working in the nursing homes accomplishes higher remuneration than, CNA working as home aides.
