Don't Go Broke Attending Bad Truck Driving Schools

Internet searches these days will give you a long list of truck schools in your area. Unfortunately it is fairly common to find truck schools on that list that only care to take your money. The intention of this article is to highlight the ways you can recognize these CDL training locations and keep more of your money in your pocket.

In order to provide information the sheds light on the subject we will use a little humor so you can easily see the point we are trying to make with each item on the list.

Choosing the right place to get quality CDL training can be a matter of life and death. All too many driving careers are ended in the short run because of poor initial training with the worst of those situations ending with fatal accidents.

Choosing these schools will leave your pockets a little lighter.

1. You will find a bad school by choosing truck schools that negotiate the fee for training. If you feel like you're getting a sales pitch that you would expect from a used car salesman, you most likely are! Whenever a school is not straight forward about the costs you have to think about what there worried about. The money or the training?

2. Schools that neglect to tell you about transportation and housing will leave you looking for expensive hotel stays and taxicabs. I bet your saying, "There is no way that can happen." I promise you it does. Signing up for truck schools for many people is exciting, so exciting that some people forget to ask all the questions. Just remember not to sign anything until you know what they are really getting and for how much, hotel stays for two weeks can be thousands alone.

3. When you choose a school that only provides CDL training for automatic transmissions you will certainly have less money when you have to pay someone else to train you on a standard transmission. Very few fleet tractors have automatic transmissions so learning on an automatic could be a waste of money.

Now that you have read this short list you should be armed with great information that will help you see a training location for what it really is. Many truck driving school students fall into the hands of low quality trucking schools and almost each time the students' story is peppered with points above. If you are looking into the driving profession you will want to avoid the truck driving schools that match up the list above.
