Scared you might be out of jobs during the recession? Worried you're on the list of next pool of being laid off? Then you came to the right place on finding the right advice!

No matter how bad the economy may get, one profession will always be in need of talented individuals. Health care, that is. We live in a society where there are more people aging than enough people to care for them. This nation is in need of nurses. At any given time, hospitals across the country are recruiting for nurses. To fill the vacancy, hospitals are looking into other countries to recruit such as Canada and the Philippines where English is the common language. Why recruit nurses from abroad you say? There are simply not enough nurses to fill the vacancy spots. Why go abroad looking for staffing when we have the manpower right here in the USA? With the right education and training, jobs can and will be filled.

So what does it really take to become a nurse? First and foremost, all nurses must graduate from an accredited two or four year institution. Nurses can practice with a ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) or a BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing) degree. Once they graduate and pass the national examination, the title, Registered Nurses will be given. Nurses work 4 days a week with 12 hour shifts. The shifts may be long, but the compensations are good ranging from $25-$50 per hour depending on the location.

One can also chose to specialize in any of the medical fields such as but not limited to Oncology, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Hematology or even Cardiology. Specialized nurses will get compensated higher than regular staffing nurses depending on locations as well ranging anywhere from $35-$65 per hour. Nurses play an important role of caring for the sick and monitoring their progress. The profession receives less respect than they deserve often due to most people are not aware of the importance of role that they play.

Ever thought about who are to care for the sick without nurses? Medical doctors give orders on how to treat the patients and nurses take the orders and care for them. Don't think you can take on the responsibilities of nurses? That is quite alright since there are plenty of other health care professions out there in need of talented individuals as well. Each and every day medical transcriptionists, technicians or administrative staffing all play an important role of patient care and safety.

In conclusion, nursing is one of the most important careers out there that will always be in need of talented individuals. There are more people aging today than enough nurses to care for them. Due to the lack of nurses, agencies are hiring from countries such as Canada and the Philippines. Nurses only work 4 days a week with 12 hour shifts. Though the shifts may be long, but the compensations are good ranging from $25-$50 per hour or even $35-$65 depending on specialized care. Even if nursing may not be the right profession for you, there are other health care fields that are in need as well.
