With the economic events of the past 24 months firmly entrenched in all our minds Career change for most people is one that has probably been forced on us. Here we go into approaches that will boost your confidence and achieve better results.

Do you want to start out on a new career path? You could have one of several reasons for doing so - you seem to have reached a saturation point in your current career, you have been ill for a long time and cannot go back to your old job, you have been fired or perhaps have to relocate - the list can go on. Here are some tips that can help you to rebuild your career effectively and efficiently.

First is to remember that your attitude carries you through any situation in life. So to keep your spirits soaring high, fill yourself with self confidence and a positive outlook; believe that you can certainly launch into a rewarding career. Next even before you start out it will be good to remember that career rebuilding is a process that could a little time. This does not mean you are going to wait forever but having a realistic time frame is a must. Else you might land up being completely de-motivated.

Planning and execution in general can take you far. Plan for your career change - make a list of your strengths, skills etc; a list of what you would like to do; companies/ firms that can hire you and so on. This is probably a good time to start out on your own! You might want to shift careers but if you feel you lack qualification then you can get trained. If you can do all planning even before quitting your current job it could prove to be an advantage.

Next is the execution part when you have to actively look for opportunities. This is the time to activate your contacts in the field. During interviews you are likely to be asked the reason for a career shift and it is best to be prepared with a convincing and sincere reply.
