Recruitment in Bristol

A lot of people first thought of the credit crunch as a new form of breakfast cereal, but alas it merely heralds an era whereby banks become reluctant to give money to people that have no feasible way of repaying. Less money is available resulting in firms, companies and businesses making use of the dreaded ‘C' word: cutbacks. On top of this, the price of alcohol goes up which generally annoys everybody.

Therefore, finding work with increasing competition in such an economic climate can be a precarious business. For example, Bristol is the eighth most populous city in Great Britain with an estimated population of over 400,000. Its long connection with the sea made it a major exporter of valuable trading commodities back in the day, but nowadays its main form of recruitment is the public services sector. So good news if you're aiming to catch criminals, put water on our burning houses or even administer our swine flu jabs. The region is also well-known for its prowess in the aeronautics division with roughly 5000 people employed in this sector. So it isn't all about farming around here you know.

But for those that are perhaps less qualified, there are local support services to help the level of recruitment. The ‘West at Work' programme aims to train people for public sector recruitment as well as the University of the West of England which provides a "large range of professional and short courses" for a wide range of recruitment areas. On top of this are the plethora of online recruitment agencies scattered in the city such as Adecco and Office Angels, so finding a job is never far from being a few clicks away.

There's a job out there for just about anybody. And it would seem that Bristol wouldn't be a bad place to find it.
