StudentScholarships.org - Social Work is my Dream Job

Posted: Dec 27, 2009 |Comments: 0 | Views: 113 |

Most people tend to think that the ultimate dream job is being a famous singer, actor, or actress. But I don't. I used to always want to be a famous singer and touch people's lives, but I have grown up and my dreams and goals have changed. I found a different way to touch people's lives.

The first dream job that I want to accomplish is being a social worker. According to StudentScholarships.org, it is a career where you can achieve a relatively good salary. It may sound strange but that is what I want to do. When I was younger I could never understand why these social workers would sometimes take children out of their homes. It confused me, but as I grew up I began to understand. Now when I hear something on the news or the radio about someone being abused, it makes me sick. This is one way that I know of that I can touch a person's life. People keep telling me, "You know that you will be dealing with troubled kids, don't you?" I understand that and I want to help these children because these kids deserve all the love and support that can be given to them. I love children, but I don't have the patience to teach them. This career choice was one of the biggest opportunities that will allow me to work around children and help them, without causing problems that might arise from being a teacher.

I'm not married, but I plan to be someday. I also hope to have children of my own, which brings me to my next dream job. This job would be my hardest to accomplish. The dream job is to be the best wife and mother that I can be. Because I look at my mom and grandma and hope that I can be that great and wonderful. My mom is a wonderful wife and mother. For example, she went to a community college to get her nursing license after she had been married for ten years and had three children. She even had a full time job.  She was always there for her family. I want to finish school first because I saw how hard it was for her to do all that. But either way I want to be at least half the woman she is. If I can be that, I wouldn't care if I accomplished anything else.

I have two ultimate dream jobs. I hope I accomplish at least one of them, but if I could do both that would be wonderful.  I love children so I hope that I can help at least one of them or I hope I can be a wonderful wife and mother. When I grow old and look back on my life, I hope to see that I have reached my ultimate dream job.
