You should not be surprised at high prices of amber jewellery, especially if the item you are looking at is the original piece of art. However, the most amusing thing to do is to go to one of the Baltic countries and find the unique piece of jewellery for which you would pay any money. You are not necessarily going to find your luck in one of the expensive art galleries. You are just as likely to find it on the beach, navigating through hundreds of open air stalls full of amber items. Few manage to resists the magic aura of amber.
