The Nature of the UK Sales Job Market

The UK sales job market is one that is characterized by an abundance of opportunities particularly for those candidates who have some years of sales commercial experience. At any given time, there is simply an immense number of job applicants who are looking for sales job opportunities. The intense competition between candidates and sales consultancies means that unfortunately, very few candidates are able to obtain their desired sales job role. In any case, with the aid of a reputable sales recruitment agency, candidates have an increased probability of securing suitable sales job placements. Another feature of sales job market is the fact that employers are normally unwilling to hire candidates who have limited commercial experience. This means that inexperienced applicants such as graduates and graduate caliber people suffer a distinct competitive disadvantage. As such, many of them fall prey to sub-standard opportunities which offer them little chance of having a successful and fulfilling sales career.

Experienced graduate selection and sales training agencies are certainly the answer to this skills/experience gap problem. This is because such agencies can provide graduates and graduate caliber people with the necessary sales training and recruitment solutions. Such agencies have the potential to increase the employability of candidates who have limited sales experience. Sales recruitment companies in the UK have gained a good track record and reputation within the sales recruitment sector due to their efforts. In fact, these companies are now regarded as some of the leading sales consultancies in Europe. This comes as no surprise when one considers that these agencies have worked with a wide range of both medium and large companies, some of which include the world’s best known brand names. Top notch agencies have also transformed many corporate sales teams into more effective sales forces.

Furthermore, the best agencies have reached that level by believing that they can shape graduates and graduate caliber people in to high-yielding sales professionals, provided that they have the right attitude and enthusiasm for sales. They believe that attitude forms a solid foundation on which effective and proven sales skills can be taught. The success they have achieved over the years is largely based on this simple but effective concept. It is also worth mentioning that the techniques and concepts of leading UK recruiters have also been emulated by a number of competing sales consultancies on the European continent.
