I wanted to talk to you about the police entrance test. There are a lot of hoops you'll have to jump through in the hiring process for the police. You'll have to apply, get called back to take your test, than go through an oral board interview before you'll ever get hired. These hoops exist to trim the fat of the excessive amount of applicants. In fact, only about 30% of the people that take the entrance test will actually pass it. You're definitely going to need an advantage over your competition and understand what is on this test. I'm going to talk to you about the police entrance test. An important aspect of this test is situational. The test isn't designed to measure your aptitude, which could very well be memorization. Remembering all the rules and regulations of the job only shows that you can remember them. They need people that can fully apply them to any situation, hence the situational questions. 'What would you do if...' this is a very type of opener of a question. They'll throw some scenario at you and you have to show that you know exactly what needs to be done. The police entrance test should also demonstrate that you are a competent written communicator. That means you show that you can spell and use proper grammar. As an officer you will write a lot of reports and lawyers will read most of them. This means that you have to be competent in this area not to get in trouble and also reflect positively in the police jurisdiction you work in.
