There’s Still Hope: Top 150 Recession Proof Jobs

The world is in crisis and even the powerful economies before are suffering now. Many lost their jobs and those who managed to snag a job have seriously downgraded their careers – all for the sake of financial survival.

Nevertheless, one should not lose hope but broaden horizons as there still exist 150 recession proof jobs. These are jobs that are essential in the society; whatever happens, these jobs will remain. You might consider changing careers?

The top 150 recession proof jobs are based on average salary, employee growth and available openings.

  • Computer and Network analysts and administrators.
  • It’s about technology. At this age, a huge part of business and economy is dependent on computer and network systems. Remember the big Y2K scare? Systems fails and we go back to Stone Age. That’s how important this kind of job is.
  • Registered nurses, Health Therapists, Health Educators, Dentists, Medical – Related jobs
  • The protectors of health. People say that health comes first than anything else. After all, nothing can be done and done well with poor health, right? As long as there are living humans, there will be people who would be hired to maintain life.
  • Teachers, Counselors, Psychologists
  • Regard must be made to the education and mental health of all people. Education is still one of the most important keys to success. Competition in employment has become even tougher that many job positions require not only career experience but also high educational attainment. Even adults with degrees go back to school for post-graduate diploma up to PhD and other extra studies. Educators will not go out of style.
  • Firefighters, Correctional Officers, Athletes, Funeral Directors, Librarians, Transit Drivers, Editors, Police
  • Next on the list are the top teams who maintain the basic services that people need. What would the people do without firefighters, policemen and drivers? Not to mention that athletes are important too in keeping healthy entertainment alive.
  • Electricians, Mailmen and Postmasters, Assistants, Sociologists, Embalmers, Tax Examiners, Animal Scientists, Archivists and Museum Technicians
  • Down after the top 100 may not be the most popular jobs. But these jobs still keep businesses and society running.

The 150 recession proof jobs only shows priority. You can see the most important pillars in society and what people deem most important that’s why these jobs continue to strive despite the recession.
Interestingly, jobs related to death such as funeral directors, embalmers and even funeral attendants are in the list. Respect and tribute to the dead is highly regarded as much as life is.

If you’re currently stuck and laid-off from the effects of recession, it doesn’t hurt to learn some new skills and try to venture to other careers. Use any career experience and skills to relate to other jobs that are hiring. Tailor your resumé to your advantage and be positive about it.

Just a reminder to you that “recession proof” does not mean it’s safe from existing difficulties. Hard work and determination is still the way to go in these difficult times.
