A good time management tip is to have a clear plan. When you don’t have a clear plan for what you are trying to accomplish it’s easy to allow other people to dictate how you use your time. Without a clear plan it’s very hard to distinguish what’s most important.

How do you formulate a clear plan so you can better manage your time? Think about what you want to accomplish short-term and long-term both personally and professionally. Write down the top three things in each area of your life so you can evaluate whether each thing that comes up in your life is moving you closer or farther away from achieving what you want. Avoid doing the things that take you farther away from what you want.

You will have greater time management success when you strive for balance. Don’t just focus on one aspect of your life and put all of your energies into that one area. Focus on the most important things in all areas of your life and keep working toward moving closer to where you want to be in each area. When you develop a life that is out of balance it almost always results in unhappiness or even disaster.

Beginning with the end in mind is both a good planning and time management tip. Focus on what you need to accomplish each day to make that day a success. When you focus on and accomplish the things that make each day a success everyday you can’t help but become a very successful and rich person. Rich in terms of time, treasures, and relationships.

Ultimately a clear plan is a key to time management success. When you have a plan and work your plan each day focusing on the most important one to three things each day everything begins to fall into place. Get your plan together, get focused, and start enjoying time freedom.
