Part time training courses are a boon to those who want to pursue targeted learning while fulfilling social and financial duty of earning. Part time training may be the solution for you if you are in a job fetched by your basic college degree, but that is not earning you enough. Part time classes offer several advantages and disadvantages over traditional full time courses. Major reasons for opting for part time courses are:
- Time: If already in job, you may not be a position to attend regular morning to evening classes. Part time courses offer flexibility to choose timing and offer late evening or weekend's options.
- Age: If you over lived college-going age long ago, you may not fit into admission criteria for the colleges. Even if colleges take you, you may find yourself unfit in the student group. Part time courses comprise of students from varied age groups; age is usually not a limiting admission criterion in most of them.
- Skills: Unlike traditional college education, part time education usually focuses more on skills and less on academics. They offer more practical and job oriented curriculum compared to college courses.
Funding For Part Time Courses
- Many employers advocate continued learning in their employees by providing incentives or by funding the course.
- Several government schemes offer free courses or financial assistance to adults returning to part time education.
- Several charity organizations offer financial assistance to unemployed youths to pursue job oriented part time learning.
It's normal for anyone to have dilemma and doubts before returning to continued education. Be assured, benefits gained will always be long lasting and enough to outweigh all your initial anxieties. Relevant part time training courses provides not only better job opportunities and employable skills but also improves your self-esteem and probably showers a qualification too!
