What Career Should I Choose - StudentScholarships.org
I would wake up with words as my sole companions and continue dreaming. My lungs would pulsate with them and expel them as briskly as wind would the seeds of a dandelion. I would wish upon those words and make them my guiding star and moral voice.
I would be a journalist. I would take the world of fashion and transform it from that of hypocrisy and superficiality into the pinnacle appreciation of human beauty. My words would infuse Vogue’s pages and preach fashion as a statement of individuality rather than a means for contentment with anonymity. I would be an ambassador. I would travel the world telling the poor to find riches in merriment of the most priceless kind, while simultaneously working on the book “Finding meaning in the utmost simplicity of life’s supposed complexity”.
I would be a philanthropist, nonetheless. I would be a writer who, upon winning the Nobel Peace Prize, would dissent on the basis of my needlessness for titles. I would be a religious advocate. I would not condone devoutness, yet would build my own church of spiritual self-medication where ornate walls and pews for egotistical centralists would be replaced by prayers to one’s own notion of otherworldliness.
I would be a savior. I would collect every tear ever shed by the forlorn and create oceans needless of self-punishment in place of arid desserts of desolation. I would be a doctor who, besides illness, would cure the complacency of the narrow-minded. My shift would be eternal. I would be a composer. I would direct symphonies worthy of extracting tears of transcendental nature and would add them to the ocean of solicitude.
I would be an artist. My art would reek of conscience and my every color would scream tolerance. I would be a curator. Every sensuous stroke of an artist’s paintbrush would provoke my imagination and every aromatic odor would fulfill the consummation of brush and canvas. I would be a therapist. I would not look down upon solitude yet would promote integrality through communication. I would listen to others’ stories and then find salvation in telling my own. I would celebrate difference and avail integrity.
I would be a singer. My vocals would ring out and overcome the monotonic shrill of discordant melodies. I would be an avid explorer, traversing the chasm presiding between the multiple realities of my mind. I would be a stunt artist, creating my own loops and leaps, and find elation in climbing the buildings of knowledge, only to learn from my mistakes as I’d tear through the foggy air on my way down.
Yet I would always rise again since, besides being a teacher, I would be a devout student schooled in living life to its extremity. I would go to sleep with the sole possessor of my words and they would sing me a lullaby. I would go to sleep with the awareness that although I may not change the world, the world would daily continue to change me.
