What is a nursing agency and how can it help me

In latest years shortages of qualified nursing staff has almost become the status quo . Even major hospitals and medical institutions are finding it increasingly challenging to get suitably qualified and experienced staff, especially for the more consultant posts that become available. Its sadly the case that a important amount of time and resources are being devoted by these organisations to just keep staff posts filled. Thats why a rising number of medical care providers and major hospices are turning to a nursing agency to off load this burden of work.

The term nursing agency is used to refer to a specialist kind of employment agency that deals solely with providing nursing and caring staff to the healthcare sector. The nurses provided are usually engaged by the nursing agency on a transient basis and they make are then placed into positions that match their background, skill set and availability. Generally, they are placed in hospitals but they can also be employed by care homes, dental practices or indeed anywhere which has a staff deficit that they may be able to provide the acceptable cover for. A nursing agency could also be expected to provide nursing staff or carers to private individuals for care at home. A nursing agency must be regulated by an appropriate body, in Britain this is the Commission For Social Care Inspection.

If you are a possible employer,eg a healthcare authority or personal hospital, then you need to think about using a nursing agency to source staff as they usually have access to a big choice of well qualified and experienced nursing staff who will be available at short notice. Because the agency maintains regular contact with their applicants, the time to filling a post is significantly reduced compared to having to interview and select candidates yourself. The best agencies are all fully accredited and insured so there should be no issues coming from claims of negligence or inappropriate behaviour.

If you're a nurse searching for work, then a nursing agency can obviously provide you with a giant selection of available posts, and counsel you n which of them are most suited to you. Its also often in the interest of nursing staff to operate through an agency as the agency can often get them better rates of pay than they could if they worked with the healthcare provider directly.

So, whether you are a medical care supplier who is battling to fill vacant posts, or if you're a nurse trying to find short or perhaps long-term work, then your first stop actually should be a nursing agency for convenience, potency and assurance.

If you have short term staff shortages or if you are looking for work as a temporary nurse or healthcare assistant, then you first point of contact should be a nursing agency. There are many good nursing agencies that cover both local and national positions.

Recruitment in Bristol

By: jon richards | 23/11/2009
I have had some experience of recruiting new members of staff from when I was a project manager in an I.T. company. It was not in Bristol but I’m sure the experience is the same wherever you are. It’s a thankless task I have to say. We used to get a huge number of responses for any post advertised and so the first task was to sort out the wheat from the chaff. In those days all applications came through the post so straight into the bin went those that weren’t in nice white envelopes. If they we

Do You Own A Nursing Agency; If So, Then Ensure You Have The Correct Level Of Insurance Cover

By: Joshua Barnes | 15/11/2009 | Business
Unfortunately, todays society is based ever more on a compensation culture. The media is peppered with ads from firms promising to get you compensation for wounds sustained and, sadly with the attraction of fast cash there looks to be a rising number of people ready to attempt to take advantage of this, whether or not they essentially deserve it or not. Unfortunately, the health-care industry isn't immune to this and even in a caring profession like nursing, its a sad fact that ...

A Reverse Cell Phone Lookup - Peace Of mind For Only A Few Dollars

By: Joshua Barnes | 13/11/2009 | Communication
One thing has kept happening to me recently and it just gets more and more annoying. Just recently, I have suffered from a spate of silent calls where the caller mysteriously hangs up as soon as I answer - I really hate that. Of course, I can live with that kind of annoyance, for that is what it is, just an annoyance. But what if I were an elderly person or someone who lived alone, then it could be quite frightening.Naturally, your phone will show you the number that called, but th...
