WHY PEOPLE DON’T SUCCEEED IN LIFE

Success is a word that is unique in life. Every individual on earth wish to be successful in their chosen career (s) to be happy and be self actualized. It is however pertinent to ask the question: why is it that people don’t succeed in life. Several factors can dictate the success or failure of individual in life. The first among these factors is laziness. While everyone would wish to be successful, some are absolutely lazy. Such individuals cannot make hay while the sun is still shinning. They are those that would wake up in the morning and fail to engage themselves in money yielding venture (s). At the end, their life would be miserable.

            Like a paradox, there are some individuals that are hardworking, working like ‘jacard’, from morning till evening, yet do not make it in life, this is where the issue of destiny comes in. If an individual is destined to be poor, there is nothing such individual could do to make him / her succeed in life.

            Another factor is curse. In some cases, an individual might have inherited a curse from the family to the extent that nothing would work for such individual and others in the family. Although this is mystical but the influence of curse on success cannot be dismissed with a waive of hand, particularly in African setting.

            Wrong choice of career also accounts for failure in life. It thus implies that for an individual to succeed, the right career must be chosen and practiced. If an individual who supposed to be a teacher mistakenly found himself or herself in accounting profession, there is tendency for such individual not to succeed as an accountant. Ditto for a carpenter that ends up as a mason or bricklayer and a tailor as painter.

            Inability to take risk also goes a long way in ensuring failure in life. Although risk taking has negative consequences, particularly if at the end it proves to be unsuccessful. An individual must therefore be optimistic and determined to take risk, which can lead to fortune in life. A monkey that jumps from one tree to another has taken a great risk, which could have led to its death.

            Lack of perseverance or endurance further accounts for failure in life. It is possible for an individual to encounter obstacle (s) or difficulty (ies) while attempting a task, such individual must however not be discouraged and thus keep up the struggle. The case of Abraham Lincoln, a former American president is an interesting one. After contesting for various political posts in United States of America but failed, he kept up the struggle and eventually became the president of the great country.

            Family forces also affects the fortune of individual. Some individuals are so pre occupied with various family problems to the extent that such problems would prevent them from attending to their personal problems, which might thus prevent them from achieving success in life.

            Over confidence also leads to failure. If an individual believes that he or she is destined to succeed or be rich in life but refused to work hard to achieve this, this can end up as an illusion.

            Sickness or illness can further prevent an individual from making it in life. It is unfortunate that many individuals who would have been successful today are in hospitals and on the streets as beggars.

            From religious angle, inability to pray can lead to failure. When everything is in place i.e. if an individual is endowed with good qualities, determined, hardworking, courageous among others, he /  she needs to be prayerful for the dreams to come to reality. This is in line with the biblical quotation that’ except the lord build the house, those that labour are doing so in vain’.

            Inability to seek the assistance of experts or friends can further lead to failure. Where an individual is selfish in idea to the extent the he / she refused to share idea (s) with colleagues, all her attempts can end up being failure. It is in the light of this that the victory of the second world war comes into focus. Britain was able to win the war when it makes allies with many nations in the world.

            From the foregoing, for an individual to be successful in life, such individual must be hardworking, choose the right career, take risk (s), be courageous, determined, seek the help of colleagues and be prayerful.
