2010 Cadillac SRX

Initially given the name Cadillac BRX, the new model will arrive as the 2010 Cadillac SRX. It might seem to be a known model for you only because the concept of this powerhouse car was introduced to the world back in August and the design of the car that was unveiled is quite similar to the finished one.

2010 Cadillac SRX will once again appear in the Detroit auto show in the end of this month. With some advanced technology SRX is comparatively smaller than the model it is going to replace. You will not find some of the features like cargo capacity, rear-wheel drive, third-row seats and legroom in this new model. Instead it offers more fuel-efficiency and more fantastic appointments.

Based on Theta Premium platform 2010 Cadillac SRX also incorporates some elements of the Epsilon mid-size car. The 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and 2010 GMC Terrain were also based on the regular Theta architecture. The SRX doesn’t have any hybrid option yet. However we can expect a hybrid version later on.

SRX is powered by two engines. The power comes from either a 3.0l WT E85 V6 engine or a 2.8l Turbocharged V6. While the first one cranks 260 horse power at 6950 rpm and delivers 221 pound feet of torque at 5600 rpm, the other engine produces 300 power house at 5500 rpm and offers 295 pound feet of torque at 1850 rpm. Both the engines are run by a standard Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission.

GM claims at that the 3.0l E85 unit produces 260 horse power which is 5% more than its predecessor used to produce. The fuel economy of this new model has also been improved from 10 to 15%.

The buyers will be provided a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Though both the models offer great traction control, the AWD model moves one step ahead with the rear eLSD. If the road condition is icy or wet the system has the capability of transferring up to 100% of torque to the wheel that offers more grip. The system also helps the driver to get better control on the car during a high-speed maneuver.

2010 Cadillac SRX boosts a number of luxury features. SRX has got a pop-up navigation system, which is quite similar to that of the CTS. It also features a leather cover (hand-sewn) and a dual-screen rear entertainment system, which is optional. The other features that SRX includes are 18/20 inch wheels, chrome fender vents, vertical headlights and so on.
