5 Reasons Why Nissan is a Leader in Clean Technology

Posted: Feb 08, 2011 |Comments: 0 |
In a continued effort to overcome environmental challenges, Nissan is focusing all of its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and improve efficiency and fuel economy of gasoline powered engines. Through their "Nissan Green Program" they strive to become a "sincere eco-innovator" by providing their customers with innovative technology in their products.

1) Reduce CO2 emissions. Nissan's ultimate goal is to reduce CO2 emissions from their vehicles. Some of the ways they will be able to accomplish this is by how they build their cars, how they transport them to sales outlets and how a customer test-drives a car. Nissan intends to cut emissions by improving their car's fuel consumption.

2) Recycling Resources. Nissan believes in prioritizing the three R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. They plan on intensifying their 3R campaign activities which include reducing generation of waste, reusing components and recycling materials.

3) Nissan Global Environmental Management System. In order to ensure that the Nissan Green Program fulfills its objectives, it applies company-wide management on a global basis. The targets for decreasing CO2 emissions will be set across all corporate activities including development, production, office, sales outlets and vendors and other related activities.

4) Nissan Leaf. The 2011 Nissan Leaf is the first affordable, zero emissions all electric vehicle. After government tax breaks and incentives, the Leaf will cost around $25,000.

5) The new 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid is on the top 10 list of the most fuel efficient vehicles according to www.fueleconomy.gov
