App For Tyre Pressure

Posted: Nov 29, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

The iphone has revolutionised the way we live, and during national tyre month this month, an app has been developed to help us further. Iphone users in the UK can now be assured they are inflating their tyres to the optimum pressure after the launch of Tyresafes new iphone application.

All you have to do is input the cars registration number into the application, and it will then provide for you the manufacturers guidelines for the correct tyre pressure for your vehicle. It has been developed after a study revealed that many drivers don't pump their tyres up on a regular basis as they don't actually know the correct pressure. It's really important that you do keep an eye on your tyre pressure however, as an underinflated tyre could cause a blow out and an accident. This is especially true at high speeds, as the wheel heats up, causing the tyre to fail. It also affects traction and handling too. Not to mention that if the police catch you, you can be given a fixed penalty and a fine on the spot.

But not everyone has an iphone. The people at tyresafe have thought of this too, and published all the correct tyre pressures on their website, so you have a handy place to check.

Tyre pressured should be checked once a month and always checked if you are embarking on a long journey.  Make sure that you go online for Cheap Car Insurance before you begin a long journey too.
