Are Water-powered Cars the Future of the Automotive Industry?

While there are no water-powered cars on the market, scientists are working hard at finding a way to cheaply mass produce these vehicles. These cars would be a great way to clean up our environment as they have no harmful emissions.

Advantages:

  • If water cars could be developed and used by everyone then we would have no need for gas stations, oil refineries and tankers. There would be no more need for drilling for oil. The corner gas station would be a distant memory. In addition, the Ozone layer would return to pre-industrial conditions without any holes and the smog would disappear. Our environment would be much cleaner.

  • Water cars are cheaper. Water costs a lot less than gasoline. And it is very easy to get water to fill up your car.

  • Water cars are much better for the environment as they produce no emissions. Therefore they will not contribute to global warming.

  • Water is always being produced. It is very unlikely the earth will ever run out of water. And using a water-powered car it might help the environment. Water cars, using a process called electrolysis, send oxygen into the atmosphere. The oxygen can bind with hydrogen in the atmosphere to product water in the form of rain and snow.

Disadvantages

  • Water cars, if they came on the market, would be very expensive as they cost a lot to produce. However, there are developers working to make a cheaper car.

  • The water cars that are being developed today still use what is called brown gas and it is mixed with water using a method called electrolysis to produce power for the car. So this type of water card would still need gasoline. However a lot less gas would be needed and it would not have to be as refined to do its job.

  • There are some skeptics that say the concept of a water car is one big scam and is an impossibility. Only time will tell as there are people that believe in this process and are diligently working to produce an effective and affordable water powered vehicle.

Water cars might still a dream of the future. However, if they do come to fruition, these amazing low pollution vehicles will be the answer to high gas and oil prices. They will actually contribute to the well being of our environment.

Today however we can only rely on conservative driving to get us where we want to go. Or, better yet the foot-powered bicycle is a great option to save on gas and prevent pollution or look to public transportation and shoe leather as alternate means of transportation until the water car is ready for the market.
