Car Auctions Buying a Car

Car Auctions are a good way of buying a cheap car in Ireland today because many people can get really good cars at very low prices. When we compare the prices with a local car dealer you will realise that the difference in price is huge. I am going to explain some of the realities of these new car auctions.

You can get any kind of cars at these Car Auctions, but what many of us do not know is that we can get cars that are like new. Many of us can think that they are going to be Cheap Cars and a bit junky and are only for desperate buyers, but let me tell you that you can get excellent cars in these auctions.

I must say that in this business there are many car dealers involved. Yes, many of them are selling their cars at car auctions, and you can get a great deal with them. Because of this we need to understand the advantage of being in this car auction when we need a car.

The Car Dealer is here trying to shift on cars he was unable to sell on his forecourt so he can turn this stock into cash to reinvest in other vehicles he may be able to sell.

Another reason is that the banks own many of these cars and they just want to get rid of these cars as soon as possible because they need the cash. They will sell these cars at whatever price they can get for them as fast as possible.

Banks can afford to sell at these prices in car auctions because they confiscate these cars and just need to get a couple of thousand euro to get their money back in most cases but usually announce the amount of outstanding finance remaining on the vehicle at the start of bidding and this can be a good guide to what you should bid for it.

But Car Auctions do sell old cars as well and these are the ones you should be particularly careful about when bidding on one. There is a very good reason these are here my friend as most a definitely junk or are on their last legs. But don’t let me discourage you from buying one of these cars as some will have been really well looked after in their time, and if its just a run around you want some of these are perfect.( I once bought a 15 year old ford fiesta in perfect condition that went for years for a 100 euro plus auction fees.)

So the final piece of advice I have for you is if using a Car Auction to buy a car do your homework before hand. Arrive early inspect the cars  you would like to bid on, check these vehicles for accident damage excessive wear and so on. Set a figure in your head for how much you would pay for this car, but also have an idea of how much this car is worth on the open market. You should bid up to about 65% of its market value but if its what you really and truly desire maybe a little bit more but remember that the Car Auctions fees will be added to this final bid price. Don’t go mad because you think that a car is cheap, KNOW that it is.

Stand in a prominent position where the auctioneer can see you and hopefully with the drop of the hammer you will have bought a good cheap car .
