This year seemed to be quite bright for the Chicago Auto Show as it entered its 101st edition. This year this show attracted some of the world's biggest car makers like Ford Motor Co., Dodge and General Motors. In this show Ford launched its new brand Taurus which is fuel economy as powered by 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. This engine delivers V-8 levels of power without sacrificing its V-6 fuel economy. This car has an enhanced SelectShift six-speed automatic transmission with control paddles which are mounted on the steering wheel in combination with a torque-sensing all-wheel drive system. Apart from this Ford also added a few trucks to its show announcements. These narrow cargo vans use a small 2.0-liter four-cylinder with136-horsepower engine connected to a four-speed automatic transmission and empowering the front wheels.
The other vehicles which stole the show this year at McCormick Place Complex were nearly 1,000. Numerous accessories and auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles, project, antique and collector cars were also exhibited in the show to display the latest in the automotive sector. Dodge launched its new model Ram 1500 this season in the show. Ram 1500 heavy-duty pickups come in 2500 and 3500 versions also alongwith the addition of a crew-cab model. Two engines would be available with a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 with 383-horsepower or a 6.7-liter Cummins V-8 diesel rated at 350 horsepower with five trim levels: base ST, SLT, TRX, Laramie and off-road-equipped power wagon for enhancing the speed.
