There is definitely no shame in settling for a gently used older car as long as it gets us where we need to go and back safely. Sometimes they might miss a few spots when the vehicle is washed down to remove all traces of mud of dirty water. Looking at the undercarriage and under the hood carefully are other places that you should examine closely for signs of flooding.

If you are seriously considering buying a used vehicle, always, always, take it to a mechanic that you choose to have a good inspection done to the motor, transmission, and other vital elements. You stand a better chance of getting an honest inspection if you use a mechanic that is completely unbiased. Buying a vehicle that has sustained water damage is no small matter and you certainly do not want to allow your self to be stuck with one.
