Electric Vehicles and The Benefit It Brings to The Environment

Electric cars got the attention of the giant economies like the United States, China, Japan, and European countries. They have are producing and using electric cars and the government is even giving out incentives and invest on research to further improve electric cars. European countries are purchasing electric cars in fleets.  Paris and London recently announced electric car technology and charging stations sharing system.

Electric cars as my friend who recently purchased from an Edmonton Toyota dealer, said that they are not just modified golf cars. They are indeed cars, one that can take you to far places you want to go. Electric cars utilize electricity stored in batteries to power it.  Toyota dealers right now have the Toyota Prius although not a complete electric car but Toyota's start to creating pure electric cars soon.

What is the difference between at electric car and the conventional engine car? Basically, an electric car is powered by many batteries or 16 to 25, that stores electricity.  Mainly, a power car provides between sixteen to 25 batteries as opposed to an engine or perhaps gas tank. The batteries that you use to start your car are the same with the batteries that run the electric cars that is lead acid.  Lead acid batteries are fairly cheap but they are also huge and bulky plus they don't store a lot of energy. The ideal batteries for electric cars are Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium lon. These types of batteries however are quite expensive and when used in an electric car will raise the EV's price. Nonetheless, electric cars will let you save so much in gasoline and because does not have an engine, it emits no carbon dioxide which we all know can be harmful to the environment.
With continued research and battery technology improvement, we will soon see a next generation of electric cars. Soon electric cars will equal and even exceed the traditional car in speed, form, and range, but with the advantage of zero C02 emissions.

A friend who frequents an Edmonton Toyota dealership told me that a lot of their customers are inquiring and interested in electric cars. Perhaps these customers of Alberta Toyota are creating a demand for a complete electric car from Toyota dealers and manufacturers. These ongoing and growing interest of Edmonton Toyota clients and other Toyota customers around the world in electric cars may be due to the fact that electric cars does not pose any hazards to the environment. Save the proper disposal of batteries. Electric cars have a quiet engine and run by clean power.  Electric cars are more fuel efficient. It provides 60 to 80% of tank to wheel performance which is four times higher than engine cars.  It's best fuel savings can be achieved when it is on low speed. Its driving style flexibility is very ideal for cosmo people and city dwellers.

Wide support and usage of electric cars will lessen carbon emissions and will help stop green house effect which is the major cause of climate change.  Carbon emissions from transportation take the fifth place in the overall emissions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the number is growing as the number of car owners are also increasing.  A fellow client at Edmonton Toyota remarked how he would want to purchase a complete electric car from Toyota dealers someday. Right now he is happy with his Toyota Prius, a hybrid electric vehicle.

People gradually changing to hybrid and electric cars are doable. We all want a clean and healthy environment for us and for our descendants.  As with anything new and with any transitions there are many challenges and issues we need to deal with in order to reach our goals of a healthier environment. One issue when changing to electric cars is of course the cost of its battery and how to make it more affordable. Next, how to improve battery technology, and of course to create and build more charging stations and parking lots as charging stations.
