Volvo earlier announced that its new flagship ‘Executive’ model, so far the most luxuriously equipped product, has been added to the all-new Volvo S80 saloon range. The car is priced at £38,415 and the deliveries have started since last week of January.
The Volvo S80 ‘Executive’ model enters the auto scene with dynamic design language, improved ergonomics, powerful performance and world-class safety. The car is delivered with the aim of attracting the most demanding car aficionados. “The all new S80 is entering an immensely tough sector where the competition is razor-sharp and the customers have very high expectations. We are now challenging the best in the segment with a very special car. It radiates what we call ‘Scandinavian Luxury’, clean and elegant lines and intelligent functionality where every single detail has been designed with the user’s well-being in mind,” said Fredrik Arp, President and CEO of Volvo Cars.
“We are convinced that the all new Volvo S80 will be a very strong contender in its class and win over many new customers considering the other popular premium brand rivals. We expect to sell 50,000 new S80s a year around the world, of which 70 per cent will be new Volvo customers,” said Frederik Arp, Volvo Cars CEO.
At the launch of the first generation Volvo S80, the automaker flaunted bold design that mirrors the automaker’s new design direction. However, the Swedish automaker did not entertain a halt. Its pool of designers cleverly entertained a sweeping auto styling innovation that evokes youthful and dynamic design language plus Volvo safety technology.
“The all new S80 is about evolutionary design,” said Steve Mattin, Volvo Cars design director. “All the shapes and materials it uses represent a continuous development of the Volvo design language. We have given the all new S80 a more youthful and dynamic stance, and created an even more inviting atmosphere by using refined materials and colors that blend smoothly with smart, user-friendly technology.”
The Volvo S80 ‘Executive’ offers distinctive Scandinavian design, a superb ride and handling, innovative technology and an excellent level of comfort. It is the latest proof that the automaker can evolve dramatically. Gone were the days of the aging Volvo 850 parts. It is high time to experience Volvo metamorphosis.
The Volvo S80 ‘Executive’ also features bespoke Executive badging, chrome accents, unique 18in alloy wheels, a refrigerator in the rear, walnut wood inlays, a Dynaudio Premium Sound, Personal Car Communicator with Keyless Drive, RTI and heated front and rear seats. The Executive’s extensive options specification include an integrated dual band or a Bluetooth telephone and Volvo’s latest generation Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) with DVD player located in the front centre armrest, and two seven inch screens in the rear of the front head restraints and two cordless headphones. The Volvo S80 Executive also offers 3 powerful engines - the D5, 3.2 (front wheel drive or All Wheel Drive) and V8 AWD, all with six-speed Geartronic transmission as standard.
