Fiat Palio Diesel has 4 cylinder front transversal 8 valve engine. It has Single Overhead Cam Shaft (SOHC) with electronically controlled Fuel injection. The engine produces maximum torque of 118 (12.0) kgm at 2500 rpm. The Fiat Palio is fitted with an extremely powerful diesel engine. Having a capacity of 1910 cc the engine is more than sufficient to provide for good acceleration and power drive.
The car has been equipped with secure engine immobilizer software. Several other contemporary safety features have also been incorporated including dashboard with height adjustable front seat belts, driver side air bag (capacity 45 litres), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), central locking system, rear windshield defroster etc.
Major reason for the success of the Fiat Palio diesel in India is the fact that it has been designed to take on rough terrains. This means rural urban commuting has been made easy with the Palio diesel.
