Ford Figo Won As Car of the Year at Bloomberg UTV Autocar India Awards
The much awaited Bloomberg UTV | Autocar India Awards 2011 concluded in a great fanfare. This marked the time for the stalwarts of the Indian automobile industry to take the center stage. The Bloomberg UTV | Autocar India Awards 2011 was presented by HDFC Bank and set the benchmark as an exceptional evening in the calendar of events for the year with some of the most prominent personalities from the Automobile, Finance and Entertainment Industry to grace the event. What made the event more glamorous was when silver screen diva and critically acclaimed actress Vidya Balan presented the award for the Best Car of the Year to Ford Figo. Mr. Deepak Lamba, Business Head of Bloomberg UTV said that "The automobile industry plays a significant role in the economic growth of our country. The award is an endeavour to honor those who with their unmatched excellence and dedication have contributed to bringing the industry to where it is today. The awards have also been associated with the unrivaled credibility that is due to its rigorous selection procedure and the distinguished jury, which ensured that the most deserving cars were declared winners in the respective categories. This year, the jury was led by Narain Karthikeyan which is India's top racing driver, Dilip Chhabria, among the leading car designers of the country, Manwendra Singh who is one of India's leading automobile historian.
