With an impressive sedan lineup consisting of 528i, 528xi, 535i, 535i xDrive, and 550, the 2009 BMW 5 Series receives new standard wheels for the 528i (17-inch light alloy double-spoke wheels with all-season tires) and 535i (17-inch light alloy V-spoke wheels with all-season tires). The wagon comes in only one trim - the 535xi.
The 2009 BMW 5 Series cars are powered by three powerful engines. An aspirated 3.0-liter inline-6 engine rated at 230 hp and 200 pound-feet of torque drives the 528i trims. The 535i trims come with a new twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-6 rated at 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The 550i sedan has a 4.8-liter V8 engine generating 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard in all these models and a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission is optional. The BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system providing optimum performance is available on the 528i xDrive sedan, 535i xDrive sedan and 535i xDrive sports wagon.
With various comfort and convenience like the active cruise control with stop & go, onboard navigation system with traffic alerts, head-up display, BMW Ultimate Service and Bluetooth Wireless Technology, the 2009 BMW 5 Series is all the more modern providing SIRIUS satellite radio, HD radio, iPod/iPhone USB and Integrated System Logic Audio System.
